genre of film would you say this film is and why do you feel inclined to feel
this way?A film noir as I feel it is quite obvious due to the use low key lighting and costuming for all characters.
2.What was your favourite aspect of the opening scene and why?
I really liked the transition from the graveyard to the school corridor as it was a really good way to make a transition from one setting to another without boring the audience.
3.Do you feel that the credits were clear and effective? And if so why?
Yes definitely, they were clear, precise and professional and could easily be read and also linked in with the genre of film noir.
4.Do you feel that the concept of the plot/storyline was easy to grasp and understand?
Yes easily! I understood immediately, and I feel that the use of the voiceover and flashbacks helped me to fully grasp the basis of what the films plotline was.
5.Were the characters you saw believable/realistic?
Yes because of the use of older actors and younger actors who portrayed people their actual ages so it make it so much more realistic because they fitted in with the same age range.
6.Did you feel that the use of the camera/shots/angles/movements and editing were effective?
Yes they helped to create an impact on what type of character and persona each separate character had.
7.Did you feel that the lighting was effective and helped to set the mood?
Yes because there was dark lighting on the killer the most of the time and lighter lighting on Jake most of the time so it should the contrast between the two really well.
8.Did you like the choice of music used throughout and why?
Yes! I loved it, it really impacted the emotions that the characters were feeling and made me feel the emotion they were feeling too.
9.If any, what areas do you feel could be improved overall?
I can’t actually think of any….
10.Did you feel that the title of the film ‘The Unconventional Truth related to the character/storyline of the film? Why?
Yes because we see how the truth is kept away from Jake for such a long time and how it has an ending that you do not expect that is entirely ‘unconventional’!

1.What genre of film would you say this film is and why do you feel inclined to feel this way?
A film noir because of the use of the detective style storyline.
2.What was your favourite aspect of the opening scene and why?
I really like the tracking shot that followed rosy and dom down the characters, kept me intrigued to see who they were going to be.
3.Do you feel that the credits were clear and effective? And if so why?
Yes because they were easily understandable and didn’t detract from the filming itself surrounding it.
4.Do you feel that the concept of the plot/storyline was easy to grasp and understand?
Yes because the voiceover at the beginning made it clear but also without giving too much away at an early stage.
5.Were the characters you saw believable/realistic?
Yes, I liked the use of the older character to play the dad as it made it a lot believable.
6.Did you feel that the use of the camera/shots/angles/movements and editing were effective?
Yes because they were used smartly to help emphasise certain emotions that the characters were feeling at that point in time.
7.Did you feel that the lighting was effective and helped to set the mood?
Yes because it showed variety of light and dark lighting depending on the mood of the scene.
8.Did you like the choice of music used throughout and why?
Yes because it added an extra sense of drama for the audience as they watched it.
9.If any, what areas do you feel could be improved overall?
Maybe not so much talking in the pub scene….it went on for quite a while.
10.Did you feel that the title of the film ‘The Unconventional Truth related to the character/storyline of the film? Why?
Yes because it represents the lies and deceit between the characters of Jake and Scarlet.
